Press release no. 230
In collaboration with the company managing the paid parking service, a pricing plan for the blue-lined parking spaces in Piazza Rabito, Marina di Ragusa, has been developed, providing protections for residents, workers in the seaside district, and weekly market-goers.
The approved tariff plan includes several options to meet the needs of visitors and citizens:
- Daily rate: €14.00
- Three-day rate: €35.00
- General monthly subscription: €70.00
- Discounted monthly pass: €50.00 (reserved for residents, property owners, merchants, and employees of local businesses).
Furthermore, to avoid penalizing local businesses and ensure usability, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, 131 of the 180 parking spaces in Piazza Rabito will be completely free.
"I remind everyone," explains Mobility Councilor Giovanni Gurrieri, "that more than half of the parking lot will remain free, and it will always be possible to park for free in slightly further areas.
It's important that those using paid parking respect the parking times or, if necessary, extend their stay using digital payment services: the Ministry of Transport's reform of the Highway Code no longer requires paying the difference but rather an immediate fine, as already happens in Ragusa and Ibla.
This is not an isolated initiative: with the launch of the internal public transport service in Marina, starting June 15th, the overall summer mobility framework will be completed, ensuring efficient connections, rota parking, a balance between paid and free parking, and concrete alternatives to private car use.
