The Municipality of Ragusa is strengthening services for the mountain community of San Giacomo thanks to funding from the Fund for the Development of Italian Mountains (FOSMIT), financed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department for Regional Affairs and Autonomies (DARA).

The Municipality of Ragusa, as part of the Fund for the Development of Italian Mountains (FOSMIT), promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department for Regional Affairs and Autonomies (DARA), has received a total funding of €42,393.73 to improve services and safety in the mountain hamlet of San Giacomo.

The allocated resources have allowed for two important interventions to be carried out in favor of the local community:

• the purchase of a 4x4 vehicle intended to ensure access to the mountain community of San Giacomo and to improve the efficiency of municipal interventions and services, especially in particularly difficult climatic or territorial conditions;

• the construction of a video surveillance system in the same hamlet aimed at increasing levels of urban security and land protection.

These interventions represent an important opportunity to strengthen the institutional presence in the mountainous areas of the municipality, ensuring more effective services and greater protection for residents.

The Municipal Administration expresses satisfaction with the result achieved, which demonstrates its commitment to seizing the funding opportunities offered by regional and national instruments to promote the development and enhancement of mountain communities.
